The Friends of GTR 1008 is a community group dedicated to preserving the iconic Grand Trunk Railway locomotive 1008 and its adjoining cars at Upper Canada Village, South Dundas, Ontario. FGTR 1008 will lead the Preservation Project to restore the train as a community landmark and a vehicle for the promotion of history and tourism in Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry. The group is partnering with community and heritage groups interested in helping to rehabilitate this important piece of Canadian history.
